Work in progress

I am still working on the language support. It is just taking a bit longer then I wanted. To allow words of varying length after translation to fit correctly, a lot of the tables are being converted into CSS. This poses a huge browser compatibility problem, which gets very, VERY frustrating. =/ (did I ever mention I hate IE -_-) Hence, I take a lot of breaks.

Because of the large amount of e-mails I receiving about translating (around 40+), I have been unable to reply to all of them. I do read every e-mail sent, so don't think I am ignoring you. Just trying not to get overwhelmed.

My goal is to have it done in 2 weeks, but considering Mass Effect 2 comes out in a few days... that isn't a promise. >_>

Update (2/25/10): Told you. Actually close to being done though. Still a lot to do, but A LOT less than before. It has become 25% language addition and 75% code cleaning/format updating.

Translators Wanted

I know there are a whole lot of non-English users of the site. For the past few months, there have been many e-mails about adding other languages and I have been trying to figure out the best way to go about it. I think I settled on a good solution, but need some help.

The problem? I only know English. D:

If you are someone fluent in English and another language you want to see on the site (preferably of one the game has a version for) and want to help, send me a mail from the Contact Page. Know that there will probably be a good amount of text to run through, but the help would be greatly appreciated.

All of this is still in very early development (I started working on it just a few hours ago), so a full list of the needed translations may not be available for a little while, until it is all compiled. I just thought it best to get a list of translators ready ahead of time.

Updates and Issues

First, list of updates. A lot of them deal with integration with calcs/linking:

Hyper Enchant Protects added to the Weapon Creator.

Stat Calc:

Format made to fit the other calcs a bit.

Armor listing now uses the same list as the Armor Calc.

You are able to link to the base armor shown in the Armor Calc.

A LOT of underlying coding changes/tweaks

Weapon/Armor Linking

Linking options are viewable after clicking a link

The viewed item can be loaded into its respective calc.

Various coding tweaks to allow the calcs to load outside data.

Though you can now, technically, link to the calc itself, I would recommend not doing so. It has a longer load time and isn't made for quick viewing. If the user wants to play with it, they can click the link to load it in themselves.

And for those not happy about the recent change in how drop rates are shown on Acepedia, do know that this is a preemptive decision to prevent the potential loss of a lot more. While I won't go into the details, just know that between the two choices given, this is the one you would prefer.

Just know that it is a preemptive decision. Whether or not similar changes are made is beyond Tim or my own control. We apologize in advance.

Acepedia++

Tim has added a bunch of the new Ep3 items to Acepedia. That includes eva/def cards, engine cards, and the drop rates of many of the new mobs.

One of the big fixes is that Acepedia now works in Internet Explorer. It is still a bit funky when clicking monster names for detailed info, but it seems to work for all the rest.

Thanks for the update Tim! :D

Weapon Calc Formula

After looking at some people's opinions on the topic through some e-mails I received, I decided the best middle ground is to just show both.

The Weapon Calc info box now shows the results of both formulas, shown as "True"(old) and "Expected"(new). The names come from the value that is most true to the info screen and what is expected if you shoot something. All in all, I just like the new way it looks. Less jumbled text.

Secondly, there has been a good amount of changes to the site. Many are impossible to see; others are obvious

Weapon Calc

Armor Calc

All Non-WP Slot Armors (R, D, E) have been added.

I know a lot of this stuff should have been added a long time ago (especially boss weapons and modifications of such), so there should be quite a few happy people. ^^ Sorry for the long wait. =(

A lot of the underlying restructuring of the site was done to make some future stuff I hope to work on much easier on my end.

I know that the actually number of people that used DiagFix (the table containing all fixes listed out; located through a button at the bottom of the Weapon Calc) was around 1 out of every 20 people that use the site, but I try to cater to all. ^^

Updated it a bit to use the new data and make it easier to play with. Isn't any prettier, but it never was meant to be. =P

Fixes Update

It is well known the names for the Super Fixes on AirRivals and, even longer ago, for NA AO, changed to a more "unique" set. It took me a bit to get it all set, but with some assistance from the NA AO staff, I got them up.

All Super gambles have been renamed. In case of differences, I kept the old versions still up on the Weapon Calc; they are just gray in the drop-down now. The new fixes also prompt an "aka" line that shows the old name, to help make it a bit easier to compare to what you may be used to.

Pierce fixes have also been added to the calc, but only the prefix ones (based on some things I was told). I may add the suffix ones a bit later, even if they aren't available.

The renamed Supers are also now on the Weapon Creator, but pierce fixes were NOT added to it. I will repeat, Pierce fixes will not pop up on any weapons on the creator... yet. I have to figure out the probability of getting them from gambles with some asking around. Until then, you have to live without a bit longer. =(

None of the old fixes were removed from the databases, and the "renames" were put in as new fixes, so old links to weapons with the old names will still show it with said name.

If you can't see the new fixes, clear you cookies and try again. Also, this was all added at 4am with little sleep, so e-mail me if I made something become D:.

Christmas!

Yay! As this is the time of the year for giving (or better yet, the act of receiving), I thought an event was needed. D:

Christmas Event!
SantA-gear seems to have visited the creator early this year. :O He seems to have left some presents for everyone to enjoy! There is also a few new Christmas gambles in the shop that can help you spruce up your weapons with a bit of holiday cheer. ^^

On a serious note, the Weapon Calc, Direct Link, and Creator have all been changed over to the databaseing format the Armor Calc uses. It should not effect anything visually, but may cause linking issues until bugs are found.

Also, the Creator's starting items have been reduced to just SPI Caps. To make up for this, a closely equivalent amount of SPI has been added to the starting funds.

Armor Calc... no lie

So I decided about 2 weeks ago I wanted a decent sized project to work on. Considering the demand, I said f'it and made it.

The Armor Calc works just about the same as the Weapon Calc. That is cause it is about 80% copy/paste. The other 20% is a change to a slightly varied way of databaseing, making things 100 times easier on my end.

Anyways, DirectLink works with it just like on the other calc. I also made sure to add all the 72 and 85 boss armors in to the best of my ability. Slot armors I hope to add a bit later as well.

This does not mean a creator is coming for armor, but it is something I may throw together later. There are many other things I would like to do first, like take a small break. ^^

Enjoy. :D

So, Acepedia went down.

As this site is too good to go to waste, I have it hosted here now. Thank tim for sending me the needed files to get it up and for all the hard work he put into it. You can do so at the forum post linked above. Show him some love. <3

Stat Calc Stuff

This will probably bring up people wanting energy and shield info added in as well. That would take a lot of restructuring and may be added later. This addition took about 10 minutes. One thing at a time. =P

10k Weapon Event!

So the creator has been up for just about 3 months now. Similarly, it has been just over 2 months since the creations that you, as the community, have built started being displayed. Since then, many people have seemed to enjoy themselves in creating what they only wish they could have.

As of today, 10,000 of those have found a home for display. In celebration of this milestone, I thought a small event was in order ^^

Initial SPI: 800,000,000

Initial Crd: 2,000,000

5 of each Hyper Gamble given at start

This event will last until Tuesday at Midnight CST. At that point, all newly linked weapons will only be saved upon reloading the page. I may "up" it a bit on the last day, so be sure to check back. ;)

This is my thank you for showing your continued help and support. I hope you enjoy it. :D

Def/Eva Charm options added in

Some of the dropdowns were rearranged

Percentages and such are now aligned better

"Siege Def" title grays out when non-Agear selected

There were a few underlying changes as well, but nothing noteworthy. I hope to play around with the stat calc a bit more. This is just the start. ;)

Weapon Calc formula change

After browsing forums for a while, I decided to play around with some changes in the formula for DPH/DPS on the Weapon Calc. The old method was:

DPH = baseatk * (enchants + fixes) * buffs * atkstat

DPS = ( DPH * volley * misslespervolley ) / ( reatk * -(enchant + fixes) * -(buffs) )

Or at least the working sense of such. Don't read too deep into that. xD Anyways, this is the new method:

DPH = baseatk * (enchants + fixes + buffs + atkstat)

DPS = ( DPH * volley * misslespervolley ) / ( reatk * -(enchant + fixes + buffs) )

Until it is confirmed if this is actually "better", there is a link to the other version of the calc with the old formula, if you so wish. From what I can see, it does seem to be more accurate, but the big test will be with Berzerk and GBM/ABM. I only have my M-gear to test on, so if people could compare the two, that would be great. :D Thanks!
